Investigative reporters from Sanook hot-footed it to Phanat Nikhom in Chonburi after a post on Facebook suggested a trader had found a pearl in a male chicken.

Nikan Siricharoen's post resulted in widespread comment and conjecture.

Nikan, 42, said that in all his years of cutting up chicken this was a one-in-a-million find.

It was located near the liver of the chicken.

Sanook said it was about the size of a 50 satang piece, smaller than a one baht coin, was hard and tinged with sky blue.

When backlit it changed to a remarkable emerald green in color.

Nikan wanted an expert to come forward to enlighten him but he was sure that his find would bring him good luck.

An ASEAN NOW Google search only revealed something called Chicken Oysters - dark pieces of meat found along the backbone near the thigh, a choice part of a chicken.

We couldn't find anything that resembled the discovery in Chonburi.

I have heard of casting pearls at swine but never at chickens. I will now have to closely examine my chicken breast fillets as well as my pork chops.

I bet it's worth Millions  ........????

Are you sure as it looks like a small jaw braker [ hard candy]. You better taste it to see if it is sweet.

A real Chicken nugget????

Probably a well formed kidney stone, fairly common in non free range birds.

I'm going pearl diving tonight.

Probably a gall stone of some sort since it was near the liver.
