ASEAN NOW Content Team
ANTARA (Kupang) - The development of potential tourism sites in Alor District, East Nusa Tenggara Province, in 2021 is being hampered by money because to the COVID-19 epidemic, according to Ati Obidje, the head of the Alor Tourism Service. "Due to the present pandemic situation, we did not receive financing help from the central government this year to exploit the potential of tourist sites in this district," Obidje said on Friday. Obidje claimed that he approached the central government for funding for Alor, but that the monies could only be used for priority locations like Labuan Bajo. "As a result, this year's tourism development budget is only going to key locations like Labuan Bajo and a few other localities in East Nusa Tenggara," she explained. In light of the present pandemic situation, Obidje said the choice was understandable. Her government did not protest to the decision because other funds had been reduced and diverted to the business and health sectors.
