Q: a neighbour of mine wants his g/f to visit him. Plain 3 month Schengen (tourist) visa needed. His pension income is just about 600 euros p.m. Could that be a problem upon application? (as far as I know there are no bank debts and another pension income of euro 100 p.m. from Switzerland). Thanks!

It will largely depend upon his circumstances in his home country. If he's living a normal life and paying rent and bills, 700 euros per month doesn't leave much to act as a sponsor. However, if he has few outgoings, then it is perhaps enough, but it's still not a lot.
