webfact
Photo by Lillian SUWANRUMPHA / AFP As the number of recovering COVID-19 patients has exceeded the number of new infections in the past 10 days, so has the quantity of unoccupied hospital beds in Bangkok and its neighboring provinces, said Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Kiattibhoom Vongrachit Sunday. Citing the case of Busarakham field hospital, he said that, as of yesterday, there were 1,905 patients still undergoing treatment, compared to 3,526 patients last week, representing a drop of 54%, and the Nimibutr pre-admission facility, which is now only accommodating 94 patients, divided into 54 “green” (mild symptoms) patients, 34 “yellow” (moderate symptoms), and six “red” (severe case) patients. Dr. Kiattibhoom added, however, that infections in upcountry provinces, particularly in communities, markets, work places and construction worker dormitories, have not declined, hence the need for active mass screenings, to separate the infected and have them quarantined in home or community isolation. Popular Post Gold Star
Perhaps it is time now that the rest of the country gets priority with the best vaccines, and send their sick to Bangkok instead.
Airalee
Why is it that whenever I have seen pictures of these “field hospitals”, they are all completely empty? Surely, if it was as bad as they say it is, wouldn’t there be pictures galore of them filled to the brim with Covid patients?

Considering the 5-6 months Bangkok has concentrated all it's efforts to treating and vaccinating patients it's not a surprise to see the improving figures.. Now all they have to do is mirror the same effort nationwide who have been patiently waiting for resources. 1
smedly
they are empty because they were never needed in the first place those with covid and are not sick are generally in home isolation now something that should have been happening all along It is well established that this virus either makes you very very sick with the possibility of death or the vast majority not sick at all with little to no symptoms

grumbleweed
Quote More empty beds found in Bangkok’s field hospitals Only to be expected when patients are jumping into bed with each other. Give me a shout when it's 3 in a bed, I'll infect myself.
