Is the Tax compliance going to be linked to Visa issuance ?
So from that possibility of linking the long term Visas to tax compliance, does that potentially they are unavailable for folks that do not want to be there enough to become tax resident perhaps. If they move to Global taxation, whilst, whilst being excluded from the likes of even basic access to some basic health cover, it makes it quite disappointing. (Together with many private health insurance not being effective if not there, for 6months out of rolling 12 months, and due to a pre-existing uncertenty they would pay out). I'm not in Thailand currently, if it were not for existing ties to Thailand, the thought of detaching from the UK, and becoming totally committed, generates apprehension rather than the pre-2019 desire.... The administration of the tax procedure is yet to be seen, in its re-interpretation, will they ask for supporting docs that are impracticle to obtain, or make assumptions on possible verification availability. The first quarter of 2025 may shed some light... -

For those of us with a vehicle older than 7 years, we need to go for a vehicle inspection to check breakes, exhaust and lights to renew the annual road tax. Guess what? Starting March 2025 battery 🔋 degradation is part of the vehicle inspection for EVs in China. Most likely something similar will also be required in Thailand 🇹🇭. -

What are the Thai names for these two Asian Ebony woods from Indonesia and Vietnam?
I love Asian wood and have a few pieces at home. Two are made from Ebony native to their country of origin, Indonesia and Vietnam. I know the common trade names and the scientific names. Does anyone know the Thai names for these woods? Any help much appreciated. 1. A hand carved Haunman statue from Indonesia made of Macassar Ebony (diospyros celebica), which comes from the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. 2. An inlaid table from Vietnam made of Mun Ebony (diospyros mun). Mun Ebony is predominantly from Vietnam. The two woods look similar with bold black and brown striping. Macassar ebony is slightly harder than black African ebony. Here is an image of the statue for reference. The statue is 82 cm tall and weighs 20 kg. -

Are the Baht busses ruining their own business?
If the baht bus driver gives you a quote of 150 baht that's how much you give him after arriving at your destination. I've been in Saturday afternoon traffic in Bangkok, traveled only a few kilometres, arrived at my destination and was told by the bolt driver to look at my app, I looked at my app and the fare had doubled, due to traffic. I'm sorry, I don't want to get into an argument with you, I just want point out a couple of issues.
