Thailand’s Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA), currently the country’s sole importer and administrator of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, has announced plans to inoculate children aged 10-18, under its “VACC 2 School” campaign, to help schools reopen for onsite classes sooner, amid reports of online learning problems. Registrations start today (Wednesday).

Schools can apply for the vaccine for its students free of charge. A total of 50,000 students will be accepted in preparation for the new school term. The inoculations are scheduled to begin on September 20th, which is also Thailand’s National Youth Day.

To be eligible for this inoculation campaign, students must be 10-18 years old, have never been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, have never been infected by the virus, not have underlying non-communicable diseases (those with underlying diseases must show their medical certificate proving their illness, stating that they can be vaccinated) and have permission from their parents.

Who should be vaccinated first?

While COVID-19 vaccine supplies are limited, health workers at high risk of exposure and older people should be prioritized for vaccination.

The vaccine is not recommended for persons younger than 18 years of age, pending the results of further studies in that age group.

Countries can refer to the WHO Prioritization Roadmap and the WHO Values Framework as guidance for their prioritization of target groups.

This was posted 10/5/21 . It doesnt seem like the Government cares to much about the children if they just go ahead with the vaccinations using this vaccine .

Indeed.  No way you can open schools until the families of the children are protected.  Will be great if they can eventually get to the children (although better if they never need to), but people at highest risk need to be vaccinated first.  Otherwise the kids can just bring it home and kill their parents and grandparents.

How can everyone know that they have never been infected?

Stupid every day more stupider actions......start at the beginning over 70 yrs old, next week 60-69, the week after 50-59 the week after 40-49 and so on..... instead of vaccine children who have the least problems with the covid.....But the parents and grand parents have to earn a living and take care of them so the priority is them first......

Uhh..... uh.... D :

Our Isaan village seems to have raised the ire of our Ampur.  We have a very low vaccination rate—the worst on our area.  People have heard about SinoVac—and they just don’t want it.  Word gets around.  They’d rather wait for AZ or Pfizer.  Can’t say I blame them.

From what i understand, vaccination will in most cases only help prevent more serious symptoms and death if someone is infected with covid. Vaccination will not prevent infection from covid.

As children very rarely become seriously ill with covid then why and what benefit would there be in vaccinating them? If it's to stop them passing on infection to their elder parents or teachers then wouldn't it be better to vaccinate those teachers and parents?

Give my child some CCP donkey wee - hell will freeze over.

Never mind that this vaccinating healthy kids over the old and sick is completely dumbfakery

Sorry kids.........
