Flash floods and heavy rain have hit many provinces of Thailand as tropical storm Conson made landfall in Vietnam’s Quang Ngai early on Sunday, according to Thailand’s Meteorological Department.

Thai authorities are advising the public to stay tuned for weather updates.

Petchabun’s Lom Sak district is one of the heaviest hit areas this weekend, as water runoff from Nam Nao mountain is affecting around 2,000 households.

So much fresh water wasted as runoff into the gulf.  Trees and shrubs and forests used to act as buffers and soak up and store water,  Thailand could build massive reservoirs for storage and buffering of the water.  Even build sizable aquaducts to transport water across several provinces as Mulholland did in the California areas, although hopefully with a more friendly process

Same  Krap every  year, another year wasted  not on infrastructure projects to help with this,  I know  ,  just  hand out some stale food  parcels instead, look  how caring we  are, coming soon drought near you.

Such infrastructure projects aren't a priority.

That takes money, but this government likes other countries to invest in infrastructure and large projects.

The funny thing is that the actual people that live in these areas can resolve a good portion of this themselves.

All they need to do is take a couple of fields and dig a big hole like a pond only dig it big enough to be a lake.

The other problem that a lot of these villages have obviously is that they are below the required height.

It is funny you see this in every country in S Asia.

Pakistan and India are even funnier in a sad way.  People see an area of land that is dry and no one is living on so they move and build their huts on the land.  They do not realize or care that it is a dry river bed that goes active during monsoon season.
