Experts with scanning equipment are expected on the scene today where tug vessel CPI 77 went down outside Wat Phanan Choeng. Missing are Somchai, 64, who was driving and his wife Nareumol, 51 who was steering. The accident happened when very fast moving water was coming out of the Pasak River into the Chao Phraya where the two rivers meet. Popular Post Jen65
As a professional retired Master Mariner I watched the video of this accident and it was fairly evident that the term "girding" was never taught to the boat skipper !! Lack of seamanship, lack of marine qualifications and probable lack of training . Marine accidents will continue just as the atrocious road accidents do !!!
