Si Sa Ket (ศรีสะเกษ) invites people to join its “Rambutan-Durian” Festival 2007 during June 22nd-28th.

Si Sa Ket Governor Kongkiat Atkaraprasertkul (ก้องเกียรติ อัครประเสริฐกุล) informs Si Sa Ket is the first province of the northeastern region that can grow rambutan and durian, adding the quality of the two kinds of fruit is similar as the eastern region’s. The first lot of rambutan and durian was produced on 1994, the first year that “Rambutan-Durian” Festival was held.

The productivity of rambutan is 1,800 kg higher per rai per year, while durian is 1,200 kg higher per rai per year. In this year, 5,885 tons of rambutan and 2,526 tons of durian are expected to be injected to the market, generating over 108 million baht.
