Good hardware shops in Bangkok?

Featured Replies

I like to buy several tools and (2nd priority) construction material.

What are the best places in Bangkok to buy such things?

Here is my priority list:

Good selection with things in stock or reasonable order times.

Competent people, if they also speak English that is a plus but no requirement.

Website with details of what they have (English preferred but better Thai than not at all).

Reasonable prices. They don't have to be the cheapest but not overpriced.

Online order and shop would be perfect.

I am not looking for a farang only shop like the big one in Ploenchit. I expect that a good shop is not in the middle of the town.

I am looking for a shop where Thai professionals would also buy.

Hardwarehouse Bang Na would be my first choice.

That will be virtually impossible for any Thai business. No Thai business that I know of has anything but a restricted selection. And that is apart from the randomly different naming of items in Thai making searches an interesting experience.

Thanks!

I found this shop online. I followed a link from the official Bosch Thailand site.

They seem to have a good selection.

I will definitely check out the hardware house in Bangna.

In the moment I am looking what they have on their website. Let's see.

In my experience of Chinatown if there is one shop for something then there is a street full of shops for similar items.

Veera at top of Sukhumvit Soi 71 just before bridge over the klong / Klong Tan intersection has excellent range of tools but is not the cheapest. There are several other shops in the same immediate vicinity -

It’s just possible that they may have the majority of their larger stock items on the website. From experience, unless you know exactly what you want, it’s possible to spend a complete day going round the store and even then not having looked at everything.
