Five more years?

Well, the junta decreed/gazetted a Twenty-Year Plan, so while I'm not sure when the clock started (2014? 2019?), there's still quite a bit of time left. This Plan cannot be changed or eliminated.

(from 2018)

20-year plan irreversible: PM

PRIME MINISTER Prayut Chan-o-cha staunchly defended his 20-year national strategy plan yesterday and warned that people should not allow politicians to scrap it, even as scholars expressed their fears it could be used to sabotage future governments.

“Today, many parties are saying that when they become the government, they’ll axe the national strategy,” Prayut said. “[That is] axing your own country. Will you people yield to that? You can’t. This is the avenue you must pursue if you want prosperity.”

I would not forget the consequences and the impact of the evolution of a society ... New and coming generations will have something to say about it in an archaic system of power that is repeated dozens of times in the form of an assault on power by arms and in this case, History speaks. A good question is always: What would the opposition have done in the same situation, if they instead had had the power, and of course not the knowledge of facts from the always unbearably crystal bright light of hindsight...????

He promised that everything in the country will improve from all the new projects and new structures that his administration has been putting in place.

Yes, the submarines and the construction of their pens will be a boon to farmers all over the country.

Power has crazed this man. His first term was an illegitimate take over the government by force. His second term was a constitution coup whereby he forced the people to accept a highly skewed constitution that allowed the senate house stacked full of his appointees for the bicameral PM election. To ensure his 2017 election chances, he changed the election law to a system that allow his ally parties to win most of the party listing and then proceed to influence the judiciary to ban party that can challenge his election chances.

His legitimacy is questionable, his governance incompetency is hopeless, his handling of the pandemic has caused immeasurable damage to the economy, he has no communication skill and no vision. Yet he has the gall to seek re-election.

Better that he resign and apologies to people that he has been wrong and has failed the nation.

But in the eyes of expert in all things, he assumes he hasn't, won't and can't do any wrong - typical self-delusional fool belief.

The guy just needs a chance to put his numerous plans and 'hubs' into place then everything in the garden wife coming up roses.

Give him 10 years and you'll see what he's really capable of!

The problem in Thailand is as always, who takes his place?

It's about time that we came to accept the history of Thailand it was and always will be governed by corruption and the man with the biggest guns.

In 50 years time there will the same problems.

Of course it is easy to forget the Thaksin era.......

Good times.

Much better than this military junta who disinfranchised millions of voters.

My Thai wife and many other Thais have nothing but complete disgust for the most corrupt government that Thailand has ever had.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is out of touch with reality.

Even in the past the ruling General never lasted this lone before having to bow out.

What is so special with Prayut that he gets to stay in power for 5 more years.

The powers above him, should tell him to have a true election with international

observers, and find out if the Thai population really want him to continue in his

role.

Geezer
