June 12, 200719 yr Glad you like them I really should have made avatars straight from the get go (so used to doing signatures, shame that no images are allowed in TV sigs) . Anyway I'll have a bash at making some avatars at the weekend, should I have the time as I might well have a beery weekend coming up. I have some ideas for Mr Bojangles but Austhaied can you give me some direction please, not quite sure on a theme for that tag... well the only thing that springs to mind probably wouldn't be allowed on TV...

July 8, 200719 yr NR i used to be a huge fan of the Pre-Raphaelites also. Bizare lot, their real lives facinated me most. My first art commission was requested to be in the style of Edward Burne-Jones in fact, but that was before i went to Art College where they knock things like that out of you. I guess i would say im relatively creative. Studied Fine Art for 4 years, went on to teach Life Drawing and kids workshops for around 5 years. Had a few Exhibitions and a few commissions and some mentions here and there. Sang in a very amature band at college (v cliche'). Love to dance my ass off (is that creative?). Attempted playing Bass guitar but apart from making some deep sounds that make me weirdly weak at the knees and although it created some creativity in my loins, I wouldnt actually call it music. Later on got fed up with the same old same and I went back to study, but in 3d Graphics. Ended up working for a London post production house mainly doing some interesting sounding boring work mainly in games and game conversions. Last job was for (the company we all love..to hate)Microsoft. An xbox360 conversion. Recently was invited to be involved in an animation project for UK Film Council, but requried me to be based back in London, so well, for good or bad Thailand won and i refused. Now im doing...well..I question that a lot..for im not sure what im really doing now. A bit of this and that really. Some graphics work, and getting back to some fine art work, and trying to finish writing and illustrating a childrens book i started 3 yr ago and left it gathering dust. Tbh, I am not sure that i could survive day to day without some form of creativity, even if it only plays out in my mind. Heck i still make pictures out of my food (but restrain myself for the most part if eating out..i think). Really wish i could learn Bass guitar more....oh the possibilities... Very impressive resume eek, although I'm not sure which impresses me most, your understatement at the beginning or the fact that you still make pictures out of your food, or.... that you blew out the fast lane to chill your boots in Thailand.
July 8, 200719 yr I feel so humble after reading this plethora of talent. The only things I've managed to create all alone have been problems. On the credit side, I can copy art (respect, Jet, love your paintings) and sounds. So I have a good memory for songs. Slightly poetic when I translate lyrics from German/English/German for local bands. I often have to reword these as otherwise the translations don't rhyme. Hadn't played guitar for years but the doctors suggested it might be good therapy to get my left hand back in action after a tendon injury. So I dusted off and restrung the old Hohner acoustic and found to my surprise, I can still manage a few numbers. For the musical erudites, I'm currently working on: Whisky in the jar One Me and Bobby McGee Don't think twice, etc. Okay, it's not creative but I'd feel left out if I didn't lay claim to something here.
July 8, 200719 yr hey qwertz, whaddaya mean not creative? Course it is. In anycase perception of creativity is subjective, or creativity is subject to perception, or creativitiy is sujsgviouslp to psluelwsm, or something along those lines. Robski, cheers, but well..its not so great..not like im the next Da Vinci. Hey, I suck at most things outside of that field, esp any thing and everything to do with numbers. Da Vinci code..wuts that then?..Its good book, dats all i know.
July 8, 200719 yr Thank you, eek, I think. Numbers I don't do well, I came last in a Thai junior math quiz. Please submit clarification on what you actually suck (at). Yours sincerely, Intrigued, Germany.
July 8, 200719 yr Oh no qwertz, cannot. Seeing as i have (i think) gained a small creative halo curtosy of Robski, ill keep that shiny for now. The huge list of things i suck at would dull the glow. I dont often get a halo, so lemme keep it for a while. But...if its any consolation on the math test, you probably did better than i would have. Seriously.
July 8, 200719 yr Uhhhhh....if I put on a tie-dyed shirt, I can play "Scarborough Fair" on a soprano recorder....does that qualify (for geekdom, I mean)? McG
July 8, 200719 yr Heck i still make pictures out of my food. I feel inspired to be creative after reading this, so what do you think? Muffin covered with cheese, cucumber eyes and cheese mouth, but is it art? As for being creative or artistic rather than logical as is required by maths, here is a quote which I liberated in the true spirit of art. "Life is painting a picture, not doing a sum." Oliver Wendell Holmes.
July 8, 200719 yr I am absolutely astounded by the abundance of artistic aptitude in Bedlam. Eek, don't be shy, reveal a little; I bet you can raise an eyebrow or two. BTW, I even make mistakes with a pocket calculator; my head's only programmed for words. McG. I can outgeek you with that number on guitar.
December 19, 200718 yr I'm not usually that creative, mostly due to a lack of time to dedicate myself to anything, but I made this video and I'm quite proud of it. I know some of you will like it and probably more of you will hate it, but I posted it on Youtube and the guy that actually wrote the tune said he was impressed with it, he's looking forward to my next one... yeh right, this one took me ages already! The tune is Scan One - Seventh Bullet which I've had kicking around for a couple of years and the video clips are from Apocolypse Now (of course) which has been rattling around my head since when I can remember. The editing was done with Windows Movie Maker (d@mn that cursed thing!) and the processing with Movavi video suite (oh Movavi, program of my dreams!) Enjoy or not as the case may be Edited December 19, 200718 yr by Robski
December 19, 200718 yr 'ckin 'ell. That must have taken you ages. good stuff. Set my mood for the day. Where' me whisky?
December 20, 200718 yr I used to build "stuff" like this. THEN IT STARTED GETTING BIGGER In the end had to get others to build and just supervise & project manage. Edited December 20, 200718 yr by LeungKen
