Lack of scheduled flights to Cambodia may hamper reduced quarantine period for travelers

The dearth of scheduled flights to Cambodia from main tourism and business related travellers will lead to a lack of impact on the inbound arrival who could benefit from the reduced quarantine period which takes effect today. China, the main destination where there were numerous flights by more than a handful of airlines flying to several cities there, still has very strict requirements, especially those who need to travel to Beijing.

For the new normal to take shape, the reduced quarantine period must be closely followed by travel bubbles with countries from where Cambodia used to receive the most flights and arrivals, either direct or transit.

Flights from China, Japan, Korea, Taipei, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia used to be the popular choice for inbound travelers who did not have access to direct flights. These has to be restored through government to government means. Flights from Malaysia were banned last year July and it has not resumed in 15 months. This ban should be lifted and flights allowed to resume.

hmm.  well a reduced quarantine may still be beneficial to people in Thailand that want to make land border runs to Cambodia, maybe to get a second SETV, or change a visa type that requires a person to leave Thailand and re-enter.

Quarantine  is reduced to 7 days.  and land borders closed, have to fly in.

So hardly consistent with needs of border runners.

why not?  If a person needs to leave to get another visa, well, it will be a 7 day stay.  I believe it always took 1 day anyway.  It can be an option for some
