Shipping iPad to UK

Featured Replies

Anyone shipped an iPad from Thailand to the U.K.?

I have checked with Fast Ship who use all types of couriers from Thai Post EMS to FedEx, DHL etc. and they say items with batteries are prohibited.

It has to do with the lithium restrictions onboard aircraft. Lithium is classified as dangerous goods.

I have heard the same thing however it does seem odd given that Lazada/Shopee etc all ship phones and computers.  You can even order items from out of the country from sellers on Ebay, Amazon, Ali Express etc.  I suppose the worst case scenario would be to have the battery removed but that probably creates problems on the other end if the unit is going in for some sort of repair.
