Twenty Thai citizens who were duped into working at an online casino in Sihanoukville for almost two months by a Chinese owner have asked for help as they want to be rescued to return to their homeland. According to a Thai television broadcast, the gang of traffickers have been trying to lure Thais to work by promising to provide them with lucrative online work in Preah Sihanouk province.

With this coming to light, Thai police are in contact with the victims to gather more information about who else are involved in  bringing Thai workers to Cambodia. One of the victims appeared on Thai television yesterday and said that she was cheated by brokers in Thailand who told her if she wanted to get a job in Cambodia, casino work was ideal.

When she arrived in Sihanoukville, one of the Chinese owners told her that the online casino will not allow any of the 20 Thais to leave the room where they were staying. They claimed they were not paid their salaries as  promised before their arrival in Cambodia.
