COE with Thai SS?

Recommended Posts

No. Not possible. Private insurance is required.

Unless you have to get it for a long time period COVID insurance is not very 3cpebsive. Length of time required is however long you will initially be stamped in for. So if you come visa ecempt, 30 days. On toyrist visa, 60 days. On a new mon-O visa, 90 days. If on a re-entry petmit then until current date of permission to stay ends (exp date shown on the re-entry permit).

Sorry to hijack , but is the Thai SS coverage acceptable for the O-A visa insurance requirements?

No. Same story.

Logically should be, but is not.

Neither is coverage under foreign veteran medical care schemes.

Wow. Just found out that JAL offers free covid coverage for 31 days as follows: "JAL has teamed up with Allianz Travel to provide all customers traveling on JAL international flights complimentary cover for medical, testing and quarantine expenses incurred as a result of testing positive for COVID-19 during their travel."

Has anyone used this to satisfy COE requirements?

"On health insurance for foreign travelers, I clarify:

1. Foreigners in Thailand can use their Social Security as health insurance (designated hospitals.) Use of SSO card as proof will b proposed in CCSA Op Ctr;

2. Travelers can provide proof of either Thai or non-Thai insurance."

Problem is there are no SSO cards - they were stopped a few years ago, all online
