This is the best time in the last three years to play golf in Thailand

Featured Replies

Many of you international golfers are now considering leaving the miserable cold climates of Europe or the States and wish to head for sunny Thailand now that quarantine times have been stopped.

There are now many countries on the list to be allowed to visit Thailand, as long as you can show you have had two vaccines, and that you test negative on arrival.

So why is it the best time for ages to come over and take a well-deserved golf vacation?

Well firstly all the hotels, Airbnb, and condominiums to rent have never been cheaper, and are offering packages including upgrades and breakfast at great rates.

250 Golf Courses

Then with over 250 plus golf courses to choose, you really are spoilt for choice, so again if you are prepared to look around, there are some great offers.

Here are a few that we have selected:

Rolling Hills in Pattaya

Siam Country’s new course Rolling Hills in Pattaya are offering an all-in package for weekdays of just THB3,500 and that includes green fee, caddie, and your cart.

Laguna Phuket are offering Expats and residents an all-in rate of THB1,800. Not sure the rates for tourists, but worth giving them a call.

Banyan Golf Resort

The award-winning Banyan Golf Resort in Hua Hin have a deal at THB1,600 if you tee off after 2pm.

And if you are bringing junior with you Pattaya Country Club have a Junior membership for THB100 for a year and then under 15yr old’s just pay a weekday fee of THB600.

Courses in top condition

Although most courses have remained open during Covid, the number of local players has been lower than normal.

This has meant less wear and tear for the fairways and greens.

Greenkeepers have also had time to repair the greens and bunkers too.

Thailand’s rainy season is almost over, but the recent downpours have helped the courses, which needed a good soaking.

November to April is the best weather for golf too, with sunny days and cool breezes.

We have listed all the tp golf clubs per region at our Golf Directory forum at AseanNow.com and our site also covers golf in Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia too.

So, it is the ideal time to grab a ticket and fly to golf paradise.

The OP is spot-on ... It's been an absolutely blissful time playing, when we were allowed in the covid situation, and now that we are reopening. Courses are in perfect condition. Few playing.

The golf courses are just itching to jack their prices up for the high season (typically Nov-Feb).  It's a shame that these courses don't cut local golfers some slack for getting them through the low-season year after year.  Especially during this COVID period.

I for one think that Thailand golf courses SHOULD have dual-pricing:  high-season prices for tourists and low-season prices for locals/local expats.  That way, courses can still make their money during the high season while allowing year-round locals to play at the same rates throughout the year.

Selfish, but happy if they never come back but then of course the venues would be in even more trouble.

I see that Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai have put their Nov/Feb price up 200thb (to 1500thb) all in, Thai and Thai Resident.

Not a huge rise ….

Does not matter how much the rise is 200baht or 20 baht there just should not be one of any description for Resident Ex pats imho.
