Post red card suspension from FiFA, News

Seems to be a little clarity of the red card controversy involving the WC , Another thing not mention much is the final arbiter of the rules, FIFA,they made the decision. Whats good for Ronaldo should be good for others.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Folarin Balogun And FIFA Reversing Red-Card Suspension, Explained

"Ronaldo received a direct red card during Portugal's final World Cup qualifier in November for elbowing Ireland defender Dara O'Shea in the back.

The FIFA Disciplinary Code typically mandates a strict three-match ban for violent conduct, which would have ruled Ronaldo out of the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup".

USA lost to a better team but the argument still lives . How fast the left went to blaming everything on the GOAT Trump, as the news trickles in on other instances of Fifa decisions.

No sort of justification whatsoever.

Using emoji reactions as a proxy for an argument is a pretty clear sign that someone has run out of actual points to make. The fact remains that FIFA's administrative decisions speak for themselves, regardless of how people try to spin or mock them.

I imagine that the overwhelming majority of football fans worldwide would be critical of FIFA's administration. However, to repeat, any past, present or future mistakes made by FIFA do not in any way justify the direct intervention and interference by Trump in Balogun's case and the overturning of the matchday officials' verdict.

If each and every red (or yellow?) card can be overturned by FIFA on a whim, the sport will turn into a farce.

Its a Fifa event! It doesn't matter what football fans think or any other football association.

The writing was on the wall in the Ronaldo case. Your case & point is mute.

Any way, good luck to the Belgium team .

I am not putting forward 'a case', you are. Your OP tries to excuse Trump's intervention using the precedent of the incident involving Ronaldo.

As I said in my replies: 'Two wrongs ...' and 'What's good for the goose ...' in no way justifies either Trump's invention or FIFA's rulings.

Yes, good luck to Belgium. England - Belgium final would be ideal outcome for me but doubt that it will happen.

It's pretty clear that Trump's sleazy move that made him the center of attention instead of the World Cup served as a motivator for the Belgium team and deflator for the USA team.

Not an X factor.

A Trump factor of the worse poisonous kind.

Would have Belgium have won anyway with the Trump stunt?

Probably. But we'll never know.

Everything is a stunt to the international left ,truth be told the arbiter of the World Cup , Fifa made a decision ,Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent suspension relief is the exact mechanism FIFA used as legal justification to clear Folarin Balogun. Under Chapter 4, Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, FIFA is granted the authority to fully or partially suspend a disciplinary measure under a probationary period.

It's futile arguing with riclag and Yagoda our house right wingers, so everyone just stop, it's a waste of time.

Whats funny is i wonder if this is their first cult, and if they are in a tax bracket where this government really gives a rat's fanny about them.

If you criticise Trump or any American policy you are an IRAN LOVER! Or you want OPEN BORDERS, or MEN IN WOMEN'S SHOWERS! And you love TERRORISM!

It is insane. It's possible to think Trump is a terrible man and still not love Iran, or terrorism, it's possible to not want open borders or men in women's showers. But if you criticise Trump or any of his actions that is what you get back.

The indoctrination is real.

The two incidents are not identical no matter how hard you try to suggest that they are.

Firstly, Ronaldo served a one-match ban (reduced from three matches). Secondly, the appeal was made by the Portuguese FA, not the Portuguese PM. The Portuguese PM did not phone Infantino.

Do you think that it is acceptable for a Head of State to attempt to influence the administration of a sport's governing body?

Well, I think Trump is a terrible human being, an awful president, a danger to the world, an imbecile, a racist, a misogynist, a predator, half senile, a bully and an idiot.

I also love terrorism, I love Iran and all it stands for, I think borders should be open for millions of illegals to stream in whenever they please, and men should be able to use women's showers. D'oh!! You got me, I fell in to your trap!!

In the entire history of FIFA (Fixing it for America)............only one red card has ever been overturned without an appeal.
