27th day of ‘new low’ daily case totals accelerates reopening moves

As Cambodia moves further towards the reopening of  travel, tourism and the economy, The Kingdom today recorded it’s lowest daily new case total since April 5th, in a remarkable run of 27 days of ‘new normal’ low case numbers. Today’s official daily new COVID case total was 111, bringing the COVID case total to 118,111 cases

 

19 days ago, on the 8th of October,  PM Hun Sen said that Cambodia will be capable of reopening its economy across all sectors if the Covid-19 situation post Pchum Ben remains stable at current levels for at least 10-15 consecutive days, stating: “If the situation remains as it is for the next 10 to 15 days, then I think it is time to reopen the economy, and society, across all sectors under the new normal concept,” 

 

The PM said yesterday that the government has set the stage for the recovery of Cambodia’s economy and a return to a “new normal” before the end of this year.
