Is it okay to get the bank statement (showing proof of funds for the previous 2 months before applying) the day before you apply and then get the bank book updated the next day when you visit the bank with the bank book showing the current date?

 

i.e. if I get the bank statement today showing proof of funds (2/11) will that suffice along with the bank book showing 3/11 transaction in the book with the required funds intact or must the statement be the same day?

 

Is there any rules on this or preferred practice?

You can do what you have outlined. Obtain bank statement previous day to applying for extension.
