Fire broke out in the area of a massage shop and an adjacent furniture store in Chatuchak market just after 12 noon yesterday.

Bangkok Business News said that the fire was brought under control within twenty minutes as firemen and Suthisan rescue services arrived.

There were no reported injuries.

Elsewhere in the Thai media it was reported that ten rooms were damaged with wood at the furniture store that has many sections fuelling the fire.

A area of the market- Soi 12/8 Section 11 - near the clock tower was damaged comprising a 50 square meter block.

Must be like a rats nest in there, a single fire could be hard to get too.

It was put out pretty quickly, nothing like some of the big fires that I have seen there. A little bit of light brown smoke, not like that black roiling smoke that electrical or oil fires cause.
