Can anyone tell me if the San Kampaeng hot springs are open during these COVID times?  I'd rather not go there and find them closed.

Then, too, is there anyplace that has a hot tub?  I know that some hotels and resorts have what they call a hot tub, but with ambient temperature water, which doesn't make it a hot tub.

Thanks.

The location on Google maps has a phone number, so you might just try giving them a call.

But there are also pictures which were uploaded in the last few days, so probably open.

Are there any other places in Chiang Mai province that has hot springs other than Sankhamphaeng? There are also no public vans going there nowadays.

I heard they were closed for several weeks due to a Covid outbreak there.

There are two highly recommendable places:

-Pong Duead Hot Springs near the Highway 1095 close to Mae Lau village,
about 60km before Pai and 50km away from Highway 107 near Mae Malai junction:
coordinates: 19.243193, 98.684289
Hot tubs, private/public bathing facilities, bungalows for rent, food, good nature hiking trails.
phone them for opening times at: +66631305392

-Pong Gwaaw Hot Springs in northern Samoeng area, only 35km away from Mae Rim:
coordinates: 19.014443, 98.731640
Hot tubs, private/public bathing facilities
phone them for opening times at:+66860123771

San Kampaeng hot springs Is closed…

Also at some venues you’ll need proof you’ve been vax’d

I was there yesterday, November 5, and they are very much open.  The place wasn't exactly abuzz with visitors on a Friday, but all areas had some activity.  Oh, and nothing other than the usual entrance fee and a temperature check was required to get in.

my wife and family were out there a couple of weeks ago... I think they dangled feet in waters... when I asked about the hot tubs the response was muddled but in some way not available, either fully booked or not open... call ahead.

Good to know, thank you for the info. We’ve been wanting to go out there, but we thought it was closed all this time. We’re heading out there today and cook a few eggs????

As stated earlier, no vaccination info needed.  Just a temperature check plus the entrance fee.
