The flooding situation in the central and northeast regions is improving but more than 89,000 households are still affected by floodwater, authorities said on Thursday.

 

Run-off from tropical storm Tianmu, Lionrock, Kompasu and monsoon rains, which passed through the country between September 23 and November 4, is still affecting 89,732 households in 13 provinces including Nong Bua Lam Phu, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sing Buri, Lopburi, Suphan Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom and Prachinburi.

 

More than 350,000 households have been affected by floods and landslides across 48 provinces, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM).

This further illustrates the lack of apathy the government has for its subjects welfare as they have had years to rectify this annual occurrence.

Traditionally, during these flooding crises, communities look after their own - they don't expect govt assistance, with the exception of the local level.

I'm sure Prayut will compensate for those affected.

Judging by the 10 day outlook on internet weather for Thailand, it looks like we are transitioning into the cool, dry season.  The floods will dry and the government can forget about flooding for another 9 or 10 months.
