BANGKOK, Nov 8 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha happily acknowledged the administration of 80 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the country and Thailand ranked 18th globally and 3rd in Southeast Asia by its vaccination coverage.

Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said Gen Prayut was satisfied with efforts to control COVID-19 in Thailand as new daily caseloads had been in four digits and new fatalities were less than 100 for weeks. Besides, the patients who fully recovered and were discharged from hospitals daily outnumbered new daily cases.

According to Bloomberg’s website on Nov 6, Thailand administered 80,484,427 doses of COVID-19 vaccines which covered 65.44% of its total population.

Someone must explain how to count for our esteemed PM. How many doses administered gives no good measure of how many that is full vaccinated. That has to do with how many doses per 100 people that has been administered. Inthat case there is no 18th place for Thailand.

Here they are on place 90 in the world and around 6-7th place in SEA.

Then tell the <deleted> to give me permission to go to a bar, have a pint or two and play a spot of pool.

I doubt I'm a risk to national security and even though my personal hero is Winston Smith I've now been brow beaten so much by these fanatics that I am prepared to submissively show my vaccine status and behave like a good and loyal member of the Party.

Like a sheep to the slaughter I will abide by the rules of groupthink and doublespeak, I'll accept that 2+ 2 does not equal 4 unless the Party says it does, and to hell with the over production of razor blades and  the hell with Julia.

Yeah right - the clocks will indeed be striking 13 on a bright cold day in April before I'd give in to all that.

If laughter is the best medicine we would all be cured by now.

If you count the chinese stuff, you probably need a booster every couple of weeks.

What about those that haven't been vaccinated because of the c-r-a-p choices in vaccines your government forced onto the Thai's, not even allowing them to buy other vaccines, disgraceful, power hungry mongrels, my wife would tell you if she ever got the chance.

Slow start but now doing huge numbers everyday. Good job.

It's a better picture for sure, after a poor roll-out. But what happens after social distancing stops, as this has played a major role so far.

I looked at the figures quoted in the BP.......the upshot of which was something like 73% (I think) are still not fully vaccinated.

Puts a different gloss on it

Take off 50% of what propaganda stuff they put out there and you'd be close to the truth, close i said, not the REAL truth...

Thailand went from 15% fully vaccinated 2 months ago to 47% now. If they keep the pace, more than 70% should be fully vaccinated by the end of the year, hopefully full reopening without Thailand Pass would follow.

An article from 6th of July:

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/08/five-vaccinated-countries-with-high-covid-rates-rely-on-china-vaccines.html

"Those countries numbered six, and five of them use Chinese vaccines as a significant part of their national inoculation programs: United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Mongolia, Uruguay and Chile. The one country among them that doesn’t depend on Chinese vaccines is the United Kingdom."

Four months later, guess which is the only country from the list above in the gutter now with high covid rates...UK.

Shouldn't they be administering booster shots by now?

Vaccinations have definitely improved, but that will never negate the total cluster F * * k that marked the start of the process. If that had been done right then the third wave and resultant shutdown would have been dampened down and businesses would be open already. So yes vaccination rates have improved and no Prayut, you don't deserve a sneaky pat on the back.

80 million administered in a population of 70 million+

as 50% are supposedly double dosed that leaves a lot un-vaccinated.

And he's happy?

Social distancing in entertainment venues stopped [mostly] otherwise life carried on as normal outside of those venues...

social distancing was/is a pure myth.

????

You better believe the PM is happy now.  The bulk of the half million doses of Moderna vaccine have gone to government/military people.  And only a small number made it to the Thonburi Hospital Group—and the people who actually paid for it last July.

I put it down to the cold weather, lack of vitamin D & Zink ????

There's virtually no more Pfeizer left and very little Astra Zeneca.

There's absolutely nothing to be proud of.
