Eating qnd Drinking Establishments and Bars in Ban Chang-Covid

Taking a trip to Rayong and wondering if the restaurants are now open and serving booze if you want a beer with your meal. How about the bars on the strip. Are they open? What are the Covid restrictions for night life and restaurants? Open but no booze like Pattaya?

Restaurants are open - not serving booze, officially ???? all bars remain shut, offically ???? there are no nightlife establishments open.

Officially shops can still only sell alchohol between 11am and 2pm, many shops in Ban Chang received warnings this week.

The only place officially open in Rayong province is Ko Samet.

Do you mean 11am to 2pm and that's it?

3 hours only in 24?

The hotel we stayed in in Ban Chang served booze, with or without meals...

We came home yesterday after a couple of days in Rayong. Stayed at the Kantary Bay and they had notices all over the hotel on the restrictions. Most of the facilities other than the pool were closed and alcohol was only available on room service. It was masks and gloves in the dining room.

As said the 7 elevens were only 11am - 1400 but we did find a beer shop about a hundred yards from the hotel with tables and chairs outside and no problem getting a beer there.

We went to a restaurant on Mae Ram Phueng beach and again no problem getting a beer with the meal, appeared to be the larger establishments that were sticking to the rules.

Its no problem, Dumbo's like that, serving drinks against the rules, should be called out, but that is not a popular view, just a correct one.

I think most places are serving alcohol in Rayong. Having been there twice in the last month, I had assumed the province was operating under the same rules as Bangkok.

Is the whole thread a set up.......posted by the RTP?

Whether or not that is the case, naming on a public forum establishments which take an enlightened attitude to requests from trusted regular customers isn't very helpful. In these troubled times outsiders like the OP will have to take their chances. Strangely enough a few of us were having a noggin yesterday evening when the staff said that the police had telephoned to announce that they would be dropping by in 10 minutes, and we were hastily served with soft drinks. The fuzz didn't show up.

Are the bars on the Ban Chang strip currently open and if so are they closing at 9PM or 11PM?  As i recall many closed early even before Covid.  Thanks!

Thinking about taking a motorbike trip and toying with the idea of staying overnight so that we can have a few beers.

So unlike in Pattaya, the bars on the Ban Chang strip cannot operate as bars with a "restaurant license"?

Are the real restaurants able to sell beer?

I've no idea what's happening on the Strip. The restaurants we go to will serve alcohol, at least to their regular customers. I don't know whether or not they are doing so within current restrictions, can't say I much care. There was a crackdown a month ago (see attachment) but it didn't seem to last long.
