INN reported that a softly-softly approach by the Thai police involved in advising Thai employers and their migrant workers from Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia of their rights and responsibilities would come to an end on November 30th.

From then on RTP chief Gen Suwat Chaengyodsuk said there would be penalties and prosecutions for employees and bosses breaking the law.

In this regard the chief said that he would come down hard on anyone taking bribes and backhanders in his force.

He told his chiefs to closely monitor the activities of men under their control.

Meanwhile in related news Taweesin Visanuyothin of the CCSA said yesterday that labour minister Suchart Chomklin had indicated that 424,703 workers from the three neighboring countries mentioned above would be coming into the country.

These would help to make up the shortfall in the labor market.

They would go into quarantine facilities in Tak, Ranong, Nong Khai, Mukdahan and Sa Kaeo after their arrival.

Exactly where and when that would be and what borders would be opened remains to be seen though in other reports on ASEAN NOW a border at Nong Khai was set to be opened soon.

Daily News reported that the demand for illegal workers and the illicit trade in their movement is hoped to abate now that legal workers would be allowed easier entry into the kingdom to take up and resume their previous employment.

Says all you need to know about the BIB that this needs to be said.

Orders no corruption 555

When someone has to mention it, it must be all over the place.

Not sure this worker entry will even happen given the quarantine requirement. They tried to set this up during the  hiatus between first and second COVID waves in Thailand and it never got off the ground. Workers couldn't afford the 14 day quarantine and employers wouldn't pay it.

It also seems crazy to require  full quarantine of fully vaccinated workets (which most of the Cambodian workets are). Exact same people could fly in under test & go.

Your average bobby out on his motorbike will say ,if it happens at the top,ie Mr Jo Ferrari , he will say ,why can't I do it .

How dose it feel when you know you're talking to your men but actually you're talking to the walls, knowing full well that nothing of the sort going to happen i wonder?...

And if, by some chance,  you should  just "happen" to find the   odd banknote,, stuffed in a brown envelope ,, in  your pocket, you are instructed to hand it into your superior immediately.

They'll probably have a lower bar to jump over than the average farang tourist.

RTP chief orders no corruption from his men.................

I laughed so hard a bit popped out.

They are unable to say which border crossings will reopen, or when, but are able to say that 424,703 workers will enter!

You know there is something about Thai government statistics, I cannot quite put a finger on it but...

How do these immigrants meet all the silly entrance criteria? $50,000 insurance?

If you allow corruption to happen then you too are corrupt. The chief wants the corruption to stop which means corruption has been allowed which means the chief is corrupt. Hope you follow my logic here.

Fat chance of that happening. Corruption is simply the bread and butter of the whole RTP.

Like expat work permit holders, they are covered by Thai social security and are not required to buy insurance. That meets the entry criteria.

You seem to be an expert on this. Have all 400,000 been double vaccinated and have paperwork as proof?

Yes, it´s says that there is too much corruption and that they are trying to do something about it. Nothing more, nothing less.

In Thailand, all numbers and statistics come out of a device, which, for reasons of simplicity, one could just call a "hat"...

No, it says a lot more than that.

Just the fact that he must order "no corruption" speaks volumes.

The rtp tagline is now and forever "paper or plastic", with "paper" being cash money, and plastic being well, a bag.

A matter of opinion, isn´t it? Or is your opinion the only one?

You are indeed entitled to your opinion, even when you are wrong.

So, it was only your opinion that was the right one. ???? for confirming!
