The Australian government is spending around $34.33 million to build clean water facilities and pipe systems that will benefit at least one million Cambodians people living in the countryside.

According to the Australian Embassy’s statement issued on Friday in Phnom Penh, this amount of money is to invest in building infrastructure in Cambodia. To date, 80 water operators across the country are being funded by the embassy to establish and expand water infrastructure.

The embassy added that this investment in building clean piped water facility and system is also helping persons with disabilities to have access to clean water. As a result, the embassy said that many disabled families benefit from this piped clean water system. It gave the example of a villager named Narun who is visually impaired and living in Kratie province.
