I Was Born In Thailand, But Live Abroad... How Do I Get A Copy Of My Birth Certificate?

Featured Replies

I was born to non-Thai parents in Bangkok back in 1970. I need a copy of my Birth Certificate for some foreign embassy as one of their requirements, what should I do? The local Royal Thai Embassy here only says that they can only give me a translation of my original Birth Certificate and not a authenticated copy of it. Aurgh!

moved to the visa section. May get a better response there.

A couple of questions. Where in Thailand were you born? What do you use now which passes for a Birth Certificate? What nationality are you?

My Thai sister in law had to return to Thailand and go round the amphur and various offices to get paperwork she needed over registering her marriage overseas and processing a passport back in the west.

Quite simply no amount of phoning or remote administration would work (she tried) and a holiday back here was the only way she could get these things done. Parts of it had to be herself physically visiting.

I have a USA driving license (test passed etc) thats lost.. DMV will not issue me a new one and no embassy or consular system can get one without me physically going back to florida and also having a residential address.. Thats how some things work !!

Have you asked DMV in Tallahassee? I have a no photo Florida license issued for an expired one that I obtained while in Thailand using a Thai address (eye exam only requirement) (96) and have extended that (paper stick-on) (02) and the last extension was done completely on-line.

Hi everyone!

My US Citizen wife petitioned me so that we can be re-united in the US. After all this time, I hope there are any updates if I can get a copy of my birth certificate without going to Thailand, like an on-line thing?

I now live here in the Philippines, those born here can get a copy of their birth certificates on-line, I hope Thailand has a similar service too.

Thank you!

By the way, I was born to filipino parents at the Bangkok Christian Hospital which used to be along the Silom Road.
