webfact
Picture: Daily News Daily News reported that Hua Hin police chief Pol Col Hongphrom Wisitchanachai and local official Montree Manichpong held a meeting at the police station with almost 100 restaurant owners and traders. Everyone was told that they must comply with rules about alcohol issued by the Prachuap Khirikhan governor from December 1st. This means they will face prosecution if they allow alcohol to be served after 10 pm. Picture: Daily News And they were reminded that only SHA and SHA+ registered establishments can even do that. Meanwhile the media reported that the Hua Hin mayor Noppaporn Wuthikun had sent in teams to make sure that traders were not infringing on ambulance and fire access routes. While officials were also warning stall holders to advertise their prices and not fleece domestic tourists at New Year. The resort about 200 kilometers south of the Thai capital Bangkok was hoping that tourists - both domestic and foreign would return after November was deemed their "reopening" date. But many reports indicate it remains quiet. Donga
"Many reports indicate it remains quiet" Not sure where those reports came from. Hua Hin is not back to full bar activity but the restaurants are booming and many bars in downtown, Soi 80 and Soi 94 are open. Many snowbirds have found their way back and there are a few Russian tourist families around. At the same a lot of renovating is going on with new places gearing up for the New Year. Avoid the weekends if you can as the place gets packed. Hua Hin police have been reasonable throughout the Covid restrictions (many restaurants been selling beer in various containers) compared to other provinces. Suspect the governor may have something to do with this and they come out with these releases from time to time to placate central command.
