Whether or not we like Phuea Thai, we must condemn foreign powers funding political groups.

Not only that we must condemn foreign powers funding, it is also illegal under the Thailand Organic Act on Political Parties. Any large donations are also illegal under the Act and party can be dissolved.  Rather foolhardy for any party to involved in foreign fundings and risk party dissolution.

the prime minister’s term will end on August 24th 2022, citing Sections 158 and 264 of the Constitution which, in essence, state that an individual cannot hold the premiership for more than eight years.

Let's see if Prayut sticks to his self-written constitution. Bitwin already accepts bets?

This will never happen..????

and never has. How do you place the military under the control of a fairly elected government? It's the military that created the first government (a Constitutional Monarchy), so they will always have the ultimate control. It's pretty hard to imagine any scenario that can change this. It's hardly worth discussing it. It's how things are and how they will stay.
