Thailand and Indonesia to reinforce cooperation in 6 areas

Thailand and Indonesia will be reinforcing their cooperation in trade, science, education, tourism, energy and diplomatic ties.

Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, Anuson Chinvanno (อนุสนธิ์ ชินวรรโณ), reveals that the first dimension which Thailand and Indonesia have plans to develop concern economic, trade, and investment cooperation. The second dimension includes agriculture, science and technology, and environment. Third is cooperation on education and culture. Fourth is cooperation on transportation and tourism. Fifth is cooperation on energy and mining and sixth concerns cooperation on legal and consular affairs.

The meeting, scheduled to take place on June 11th, will be presided over by Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Nitya Pibulsonggram (นิตย์ พิบูลสงคราม) and Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirayuda (ฮัสซัน วิรายูดา).

Thailand to host the 6th Thailand-Indonesia joint meeting

Thailand is hosting the 6th Thailand-Indonesia joint meeting in an attempt to reinforce their cooperation.

Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Nitya Pibulsonggram (นิตย์ พิบูลสงคราม) and Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirayuda (ฮัสซัน วิรายูดา) jointly preside over the 6th Thailand-Indonesia joint meeting. The meeting will touch on the current bilateral cooperation and seek more cooperation amongst each other.

The meeting will look into issues such as 1. economy, trade, and investment, 2. agriculture, science technology, and environment, 3 education and culture, 4 transport and tourism, 5 energy and mine, 6 legal cooperation and consular.

After the meeting, Thailand and Indonesia will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
