Business Ownership

Featured Replies

I’m curious as to where I can go to read up on business ownership in Thailand. I have been reading some documentation that references a two million baht company, and then other documentation that references the employment of anywhere from four to seven Thai nationals. Is there a government web site that I could visit to understand all of the necessary requirements for starting a business with my Thai friend?

Best regards,

John

Lots of misinformation on the internet.

If you are a Director and seek a work permit, the company registration capital must be 2 million. If you're only an employee and do not need a one year visa (instead you could have one year multi entry visa which requires visa runs every 90 days) then you would not have the 2 million Baht registered capital requirement.

For a work permit the correct answer is no requirement exists to have Thai employees. However that requirement exists for the one year visa which is now 4 Thai employees per foreigner work permit.
