The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has expressed its concern over rising infections among Thai medical personnel and has urged them to receive a fourth dose of vaccine to boost protection.

CCSA Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Sumanee Wacharasint said that, in recent days, about 30 medics have been infected with COVID-19 each day adding, however, that while the numbers are low, the implications are of greater concern, because there will be a reducing number of medical personnel to take care of patients.

She cited the case of Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital in Bangkok, where some medics were found to be infected, but the emergency ward still had to be closed temporarily.

It's about time that Anutin apologised to everyone who was forced to take a double dose or even a single dose of Sinovac. The Chinese vaccines are utterly useless, have no long lasting benefit and cost the same as a high quality mRNA vaccine and many times more than Az or Janssen. His stupidity has cost this country billions of baht and thousands of people who have become positive. A friend of mine who had Dinovac and caught Dekta is now Omicron positive. Her life has been ruined by this because she cannot work.

I thought this new strain was mostly mild and mostly didn't require hospitalisation.

So where are the "new infections" coming from?

Israel is on it's 4th round of Pfizer "boosters" now. Mandated by law. Indicating that these novel vaccines (terms changed to allow the word "vaccine" to apply) are a total failure.

Yes, well its hardly unexpected as its happening everywhere else in the world. Omicron is not harmless because it spreads much easier and forces isolation on the work force in large numbers. The only difference in Thailand is possibly that the medical profession possibly actually get tested (assumed). My daughter just had it for nearly 3 weeks and she is young and fit. It has left her with a hacking cough and she is now obout to go back to work. Dont worry though if you can't have an urgent medical procedure a nut in Thailand has it all under control ????

The Delta sometimes  mixes with the Omicron virus when the Omicron is displaces Delta. <deleted> happens but not often.
