Apparently there was someone with a gun on Sukhumvit Soi 8 last night.

I heard there was an incident at a condo in the soi. Thai family. Domestic mental health issue of some sort. Son had a gun; father tried to take it off him and got shot. Son apparently then hunkered down in the condo. Father apparently in hospital. 

 

Hope everyone's OK.

 

I grew to really like Soi 8, plenty going on, but not OTT.

Why does a Thai family need to have a gun in the house ?

This is one area where following the lead from the USA is definitely not a good idea ! 

Did he light any cigarettes with it, if so it was probably a lighter

Surely he must be stopped. Cigs are bad for your health...

Chances are that there may have been many guys in Soi 8 with guns last night,

It would be an event if nobody carried

yeah ... a country that sees around 20,726 gun dead (this figure excludes suicides, 1021 of which were carried out by the police !!! OMG !!!) people a year ... aint' a country I'd take any advise or lead from about guns.
