Economic Crime Division police raided a warehouse in the Phraeksa area of Samut Prakan south east of the Thai capital Bangkok.

They found about one million face masks worth about 3 million baht.

Some of the masks had Japanese excise labels but they had all been imported from China.

It was reckoned that they were sub-standard merchandise made to look as if they had Japanese approval so that those selling could charge more.

Summonses are in the offing. Siam Rath reported no arrests yesterday.

Counterfeiting is a world wide problem and China leads the way.

It will never end....

It will not be easy to eradicate counterfeiting in China without hurting the domestic economy.  Piracy employs both directly and indirectly 3 to 5 million people in China.  Recent estimates place the market value of counterfeit goods upwards of $25 billion annually.  It is so pervasive that companies established by local governments operate as some of the 40,000 outlets nationwide for these fake goods.  Many of the most flagrant brand violators are state enterprises and run by the same governments that should be policing them.

Good at copies, very good at dam construction and superb at pandemics—what’s not to like about China?

Well, here is just something else that China may try to deny.

I am trying to boycott China and buy products that are

actually made in Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan even if they

may cost a bit more. Just my way of living the life.

Good job RTP..

I know some things you simply can’t. But I will search far and wide to get things that are made anywhere else.
