ubonjoe
You get one those residency books after applying for permanent residency and having it approved. You have to be working and paying taxes for 3 years on extensions of stay to apply for it.
ifmu
thanks how can i do this ? which visa ? i can see 2 yrs but 3? You must have had a Thai non-immigrant visa for at least three years prior to the submission of your application. Holders of multiple NON-Immigrant visas can not apply. You must have 3 consecutive yearly extensions in order to qualify.
ubonjoe
Not sure why the consulate has a visa application on the same page as those that have permanent residency. If married to a Thai you could get a non-o visa and then extensions based upon that and then one year extensions of stay and then find a job to get a work permit and work. Or you if you found a job you could apply for a non-b visa and a extension of stay based upon working. You can only apply for permanent residency at immigration here. Look here for more information. https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?page_id=1744
