You may have missed this in my other message to another poster. Basically, if a foreigner has property, he is also likely to have cash, too. Per Google: It is much more likely that a foreigner who owns a condo in Thailand also holds cash assets. Buying property there usually requires proving funds from abroad or substantial local liquidity, meaning these owners generally have higher personal wealth or savings compared to the average non-property owner. [1] So, the spouse is likely to inherit cash, as well as a property. Makes perfect sense to me. Likely will not be left in dire straits. Likely has a number of options, as Lacessit just stated. None of us has ever said our 'circumstances are appliable to everyone'. That's total BS. I know I certainly haven't. How many countless times have I posted that 'one size does NOT fit all??? What the three of us are saying is that there ARE more sizes than just one. What we are each saying is this is what I am doing, this is my size. May not be your size, but that's ok. The size is meant to work for me, not necessarily for you. However, what we keep hearing from you is there is only one size, and that size is only renting. That one size means not leaving property to a spouse, not having property in the first place. Might work a treat for someone single like you. For me, though, with my circumstances that are not your circumstances, your size just doesn't fit--no matter how you keep trying to make it fit by saying it fits you so well. Now, maybe, you wear your size and I'll wear mine and we'll both live happily ever after.
