correct Posted June 12, 2007 Share Posted June 12, 2007 Speeding Car Hits Truck with Workers The Banglamung Police were informed at 9.30 pm on 10th June that an accident occurred on Road 36 to Rayong and someone was killed at the scene. It was found that a car driven by a furniture delivery man, Ruengsak, aged 34, was speeding and hit a pickup truck’s rear that had Cambodian workers in the back. The impact caused the 8 men to fly off the back of the truck onto the road – killing Mr. Cha, aged 30, instantly. The truck overturned and driver and the head of the workers, both Thai, were stuck in the upside down truck until officers came to their rescue and got them out. Seven of the workers were injured and sent to Banglamung Hospital. The car driver tried to flee the scene but didn’t succeed therefore was arrested and taken back to the station where he will be charged with causing death by reckless driving.
