OzMan
I have a Non O on my Australian passport. The Non O needs to be extended for 365 days within the next month. Unfortunately, my Australian passport expires in 11 months, not the 18 months required for a Non O extension. I also have a Canadian passport that expires in 2026. Can I take my Canadian passport to Immigration, with a TM7, and ask for the renewal to be placed on my Canadian passport?
ubonjoe
I assume you are applying for a extension of stay at immigration. There is no 18 month rule when applying for a extension of stay. The 18 month rule is only for applying for a multiple entry visa at a embassy or consulate. If your passport does not have 12 months of validity remaining on its validity your extension of stay will be issued to the day your passport expires. You cannot switch passports without leaving and re-entering the country.
