Henryford
I want to create an external SSD enclosure using a SSD from a broken laptop. The laptop spec says it is a PCLe NVME SSD but the SSD has 2 gaps in the pins (see photo) which i thought indicated it was a SATA SSD. I am not sure what enclosure to buy, one for SATA or NVME, which i think are incompatible. Any advice please?
gamb00ler
It's an M.2 interface: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2 Here's the specs: Edited February 28, 2022 by gamb00ler
Henryford
Thanks for the fast reply. So it's a NVME SSD. It was just the 2 gaps in the pins that gave me some doubt as videos on the web show NVME SSDs as having only one gap.

Just make sure that what you buy accepts the M.2 connection and the 22 X 80 size.
