Poor air quality has been reported in 28 areas of metropolitan Bangkok today (Monday), with the amount of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere exceeding safety limits, mainly due to stagnant air flow and an accumulation of airborne dust particles due to emissions from increased road traffic.

Bangkok’s Ma Charoen Road in Nong Khaem district topped the chart this morning with 68 microns of PM2.5 dust particles reported.

According to the coordination centre charged with solving the air pollution problems in Bangkok, the high level of PM2.5 dust in the atmosphere were found...

FWIW, Thailand has its own more relaxed/less strict air quality scale for PM2.5 air pollution than the U.S./international version.

Thailand doesn't consider PM2.5 air pollution to begin to cause health impacts (the orange color coding) until the readings get to 51 microns and above. (Their lower yellow level is called "moderate").

The same orange coding on the U.S./international scale for PM2.5 pollution, listed as unhealthy for sensitive individuals, begins at only 36 microns.

Thailand's self-declared health threshold of 51 microns of PM2.5 (101 on its AQI scale) translates on the U.S./international scale to an AQI of 139, which is on the high end of the U.S./intl "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category.
