samuijimmy Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Yes, thanks for the input guys, it seems to be a problem lately uploading from my Google Photos links .. I can usually see the images, so don't know there is a problem. Getting the TVF techs to check it out... These are directly loaded from my computer ... that should work! Na Muang Safari Park I have removed some coments about images not showing!
samuijimmy Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 The image uploading still seems to be an issue, but I think may be partly fixed... there will be a survey in the Photo forum (soon) to try and find out who what why! Tech team are working on it! https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/84-photography-and-the-arts/ Meanwhile a few images from today's Songkran water fightrs (Bang Por and Nathon... which were pretty tame! and spread out!

Had noddle soup with spareribs for 80 baht and half liter Chang for 100 baht. Was the only westerner there, lots of Thai arrived around 4 PM for food and live music until midnight. Go there with your Thai friends, I will return for sure. And yes, same prize for Farang as for Thais. https://www.facebook.com/Plern-waree-samui-1714947855418328/ Sadly this place has closed, due to lack of business I suppose, really was not a good location as not a lot of resorts within close range.

notmyself Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Squirrel trap: I should of guessed really! Was going into town to meet someone and happened to have my camera at hand so took a picture. Later that afternoon I showed the picture to a restauranteur I know and she had no idea. so she asked her staff and one said it was a squirrel trap... 300 Baht. What with the metal they are putting around the electricity pylons it will eradicate the population which is already way too small to control the palm weevil. Left unchecked, the palm weevil will destroy maybe 85% of what is green on the island. [I'm a foodie] What is of interest is that the indigenous population were not known to hunt squirrels because other forms of protein such as fish was easier to get...... less effort. They blame the Burmese (Myanmar) but it has to include much of northern Thailand. It's geographical and not national. I've lived in this house for 8-9 years and while I used to see squirrels every day I can't remember the last time I saw one. I had squirrel curry a few times many years back and while it is bony as <404 error> it is actually really nice. Better than grey squirrel in the UK which are perfectly legal to hunt as they are an invasive species. Oops... this is the image thread so better provide another one.... 1
