Using Bangkok Bank Unionpay debit card in mainland China

Recommended Posts

Has anyone successfully used their Bangkok Bank Be1st debit card with the UnionPay logo to withdraw Chinese Yuan from an ATM in mainland China? Also, what's the best way to pay for things in China from a Thai bank account?

It never occurred to me when I was in Chiana few years ago. However, I had difficult time getting cash from airport ATM using my half a dozen American Visa/MC debit card. After checking a few machines I got the money eventually from one of the machine using Capital One 360 debit card.

This is similar to my experience, except I never did find an ATM that worked. Instead, I managed to load the Alipay app from a credit card. That worked for all of two days. It's a long story...
