Four possible cases of BA.2.2 Omicron sub-variant detected in Thailand no cause for alarm

The Thai Medical Sciences Department has found four possible cases of infection by the BA.2.2 strain of the COVID-19 Omicron sub-variant in Thailand, but has asked the public not to panic because BA.2.2 is not yet regarded as a variant of concern, said the department’s head, Dr. Supakit Sirilak today (Monday).

Passenger bus driver who crashed in Saraburi on Saturday, killing 7 and injuring dozens, arrested for taking meth while driving

A double-decker bus driver who crashed into a foundation post of a bridge and killed seven passengers in Saraburi was captured today, March 14th, after being found taking drugs while driving.

Government Advises Thais to Enjoy Songkran Without “Water Blessing” Ceremony

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health is advising the public not to participate in the Songkran holiday’s "water blessing" ceremony, claiming that pouring water on other people’s hands, particularly elderly relatives, increases their risk of contracting COVID-19.

Russian embassy in Thailand blocks foreign media from attending press conference on Ukraine invasion

The Russian embassy in Thailand is due to hold a press conference for Thai-based media on Tuesday to clarify the “situation” in Ukraine and also remark on bilateral Thailand-Russia relations. However foreign media that registered for the event have seemingly had their request to attend denied despite early registration.

Investigation underway as suspected piece of aircraft washes up on beach in southern Thailand
