The Russian embassy in Thailand is due to hold a press conference for Thai-based media on Tuesday to clarify the “situation” in Ukraine and also remark on bilateral Thailand-Russia relations. However foreign media that registered for the event have seemingly had their request to attend denied despite early registration.

 

Thailand was one of 141 countries to condemn Russia for its illegal invasion of Ukraine at a historic UN General Assembly meeting on March 3.

 

Hundreds of Russian tourists are also stuck in the country following sanctions which have limited the use of credit cards by Russian nationals.

Why hold a press conference if it's only going to be one sided....

A Russian, a Chinese, and a Thai walk into a bar....er I mean a press conference....

Seems the Russians are aware of the deferential nature of Thai reporting and prefer to keep it that way without those pesky foreign journalists doing their job properly and asking tough questions.

Russia has not invaded Ukraine they are only there to remove the neo-Nazis and restore peace to a corrupt Jewish led country.....it is a peace keeping mission.  Funny for one to believe that after having seen the destruction and deaths from both sides.

Some boomers still think they can control narrative in a globally connected world, apparently.

I guarantee that more Thai pay more attention to LINE than a press conference/propeganda.

Are we to believe the latest poll showing 59% of the Russian people support this war against mostly  women and children? Likely the Russian people have no idea what is really happening. 

 

They are struggling to exert total control here, as they do at home. If the media here was not as morally bankrupt as the Russian government is, they would refuse to appear unless all journalists were invited. However, they are used to being pressured, cajoled and censored by Prayuth and his minions. 

As time goes on, Russia appears to be increasing more desperate. They do not seem to enjoy being the world's greatest pariah. They are, and deservedly so. Having a despot dictator for a leader comes at a high cost. Russia is an embarrassment to our entire civilization, and that is saying alot.

Well, will we ever know the real answer to a question like that, when you have media outlets like RT, who absolutely refuse to criticize anything remotely Russian,  and a despot who kills those who are critical? 

Makes sense: the press conf. for Thai media in Thailand. So reps. a.k.a. journalists (funny when you put it together "thai journalists") will be briefed on official Russian version of events happening in Ukraine and why only few signatures would safe thousands lives, millions refugees and prevent economical crisis in Europe.
And maybe why if you vote for comedian you might stumble upon a bad joke.

Long time ago Ambassador of Iran had a press-conf. at FCCT (that penthouse in Bangkok). The event turned into complete mockery with zero respect not only to the Ambassador but to colleagues as well.

If the press conference is for Thai media why do they need to allow foreign media?

Thai media should also decline, stating free pres for all or none.

This poll was from February......before the war started.

And yes, so many Russians agree with his politics.

And this hopefully might change.

However, with No access to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and only Government speech.....

It might change when all those thousands of coffins come back to mothers or wifes ????
