Questions

1. Will the embassy/consulate/immigration in one of the neighboring countries grant me a Tourist Visa for another 60 days based on the above visa chronology?

1a. If no, how long would I have to stay outside of Thailand to be granted a new Tourist Visa? And where do you suggest I go in the meantime taking into account visa rules for that country and the time I have to spend there before getting back to Thailand? Will the border/airport immigration let me into Thailand for a few days to get my affairs sorted out and then leave the country?

1b. If yes, in what country/embassy do you suggest I apply for this Tourist visa? Do I have to show an onward ticket when entering on a Tourist visa? And does it have to be an airline ticket?

What are the different scenarios you see?

Long time reader, first time writer. Admire all the effort you guys put in to this forum. All input is appreciated, feel free to answer in part or whole.

We have not seen reports of people not being able to obtain tourist visas if they request them. Laos and Malaysia/Singapore would be your best choice. You may have to show 20,000 baht in cash upon return as that is a requirement for visa entry and is sometimes checked (but still appears to be less than often). An onward ticket is not normally required for a tourist visa entry.

can anyone help? i dont know whats going to happen this time.My visa runs out at the end of this month but i need to return to sunny England next month. The last visa i received was a 90 day non immigrant b from Singapore (single entry) which runs out in less than 2 weeks.I have been told to do the Cambodia run before it runs out and get a 30 day tourist visa therefore taking me to next month when i can go to England.I dont know if i will have to produce an airline ticket at the border to show i am leaving for England or as stated before,to have 20,000 bt in my pocket. To make matters worse the last visa from Singapore stated i had to have a work permit the next time i apply for a visa but this has not been 100 percent finalised yet nor will be by the time i go to Cambodia or England. For sure the work permit will be in place soon but not in time. Will they let me back in at the Cambodia border or will i be doing a tour of the Cambodia waste land by myself and trying to hike back to the UK a month later? Any help much appreciated.

You do not say if you had used your alloted 90 days of entry without visa prior to your non immigrant stay. If not you should be fine making the border run for a 30 day stamp with your airline ticket out of Thailand within 30 days. I would also have access to at least 10k (cards/friend) in cash as that can be asked for at any time when crossing border. The work permit comment would only apply to a business type visa - not for tourist or entry without visa (30 day stay).
