Can I change my current reason of stay (work) to retirement at any immigration office in my province, or does any of the process have to be done at my current immigration office where I do my extensions and 90 day reporting?

Note: My current extension is to the end of September.  I will be changing my reason of stay in May,

You will have to cancel your current extension at the office where you applied for it. You will need a termination letter stating your last day you will be working for them before applying for a extension based upon retirement.

Most immigration offices will post date the cancelation date if you request it be done before the date on the letter. That may give you time to apply for your extension based upon retirement at the new office.
