Certificate of Residence - Bangkok

Recommended Posts

I need two certificates of residence since I'm buying a car and selling my old one.  Seaching here there's so much conflicting information, and there's nothing on the Immigration website. I'm hoping for clarity.

(1) Is this now being done at Mueang Thong Thani, rather than Chaengwattana?

(2) What documents do I need to prepare? (I'm doing 90 day reports, so I presume no separate proof of address is needed.)

(3) Presumably I need two copies of everything since I need two certificates.  Right?

Thanks.

You obtain residence certificate at MTT.

Main thing they want is your most recent 90 day report receipt.

The fee is 200baht.

It is mailed out EMS and you receive it in under 2 weeks.

I had my lease but was not required.

BTW if your 90 day report is due the desks for that A is adjacent to desk B for residence certificate.

Don't imagine 2 copies required.

For example if you tick car and bike license they provide 2 certificates and charge 400b

Thanks.

Did you need photographs? Copies of passport pages?

I basically gave them copy of my 90 report.

As per usual dealing with immigration I always take the standard copies of PP identity page, TM6, last entry stamp, visa stamp if any etc.

Wouldn't hurt to have a TM30 receipt however I didn't have or provide one.

I had a lease that was not looked at.

I actually did a 90 day report just prior to the residence certificate.

They also were not interested in my lease or TM30.

Just verbal confirmation of the address I wrote for report was where I lived.

The issue (if any) is with the clerks that issue queue ticket and do quick doc check.

There is a photocopy service on site.

A bit off topic:

My ex (european) wants to apply for a thai drivers license.

Does her european license needs to be translated into thai?

As usual with Thailand some transport office will required foreign DL to be translated into Thai some not. (DL in English don't require translation)

If she is obtaining TDL in Bangkok contact agent for confirmation.

BSR bikes are good just Google. They have messenger.

Owner Mark USA guy very helpful.

Someone with recent advice can confirm translation required.

There is also sub forum with threads about TDL.
