Brewster67
I am a believer in the four turning cycles of societies and political structures. This phenomenon repeats itself all over the world throughout history. For those unfamiliar with the four turnings here is a good analogy: Good times make weak men Weak men make bad times Bad times make strong men Strong men make good times Having only been here for 12 years I find it dificult to see where Thailand sits in this cycle.. Obviouly cycles can be interupted by substantial interventions such as war, political upheaval etc. So I guess my question is where do we sit at this moment, bearing in mind each turning usually happens over a span of a single generation. I am sure you can find all these stages somewhere in Thailand.
TheScience
I believe this economic, social, political term was coined by Strauss and Howe. I don't recall it was viewed as specific to a single nation but rather a turning of world events. As I remember it has nothing to do with a fourth turn of world events per SE but rather we are in/entering the fourth turning. I recall somewhat recently I think it was Strauss that visited Thailand and had a casual photo with Prayut. Interesting times.
