Lumpini police were called to the roof of a well-known shopping center on Ratdamri Road where a hotel is being added.

A 20 meter high crane's arm had collapsed onto two workers from Myanmar.

Both were injured and one died in hospital.

Police think the crane was probably overloaded leading to the accident.

It happened about 10 am yesterday.

The store was not named in the Sanook story.

Amazing how often these things seem to collapse or fall over..........the world over.

Had one fall in front of me across all six lanes of a motorway as I drove into Brussels......stuck there for over five hours.

Before or after defending defamation suit naming company that 'killed' their kin ?

More crane carnage! When will it stop?

With all of the cranes I see working in the One Bangkok, the Dusit Park Residence, and the surrounding construction Areas I am always concerned but at a loss as to why more accidents do not occur when I watch them lifting piles of construction materials up to the series of stages being built as the buildings move upwards.

So a manslaughter charge will be pending with the construction site owner summoned for questioning on safety standards at the site?

And then put a video, clearly showing "The Market" with the crane just behind it.

Why does it matter to you who builds something? Judging from some of the work I've seen first hand that Thais do though - yes, I'd rather others did the job.

Almost...555.....it was before mobile phones were quite common.

Supposed to be chairing a meeting and had to walk along knocking on car windows asking if anyone had a phone so I could call and cancel.

Thai Police would not have a clue as to what caused the accident.
